History & Evolution
Anthony first found "Juggle-Sticks" on Vancouver Island in the summer of 1995 in a vintage consignment store. He wore the sticks down to nothing and struggled to find another set anywhere. Upset with the quality and continual patchwork of his sticks he began researching materials and sought out to developed his very first set back in Southern, Ontario. As interest sky rocketed with high school students he began manufacturing the game for his friends and word spread to other schools about his creations. Within no time his sticks were being played with by teenagers everywhere around the city. His phone was ringing off the hook for custom orders and life was good for this little business man. With winter fast approaching and his summer products not moving he decided to apply for regular employment through Toys'R'Us. Within a week he was invited in for an interview to discuss much more than a part-time job. He was warmly welcomed into the back offices for an interview where he was asked just about every question you can think of regarding his juggle-sticks. They wanted to know about the materials he used, who was buying them and future plans to distribute his products. Little did he know they were being manufactured elsewhere and Toys"R"Us had big plans to distribute in North America. Within a few months a television commercial was on air and Anthony learned his first lesson about sharing his product knowledge with the competition. He didn't get the job, but was so happy for being responsible for this trendy booming game everyone called "Devil Sticks." As years passed he refined his product with much better materials and even sorted out how to be eco-friendly. Fast forwarding to 2016 , he has maturely refined the products, created a "HowToSpin" video and is currently supplying 12 Stores in Canada with plans for expanding beyond Ontario. "Spin-Stix" was the term coined by Anthony in 2015 while registering the website www.spinstix.com. Anthony is the Chief Innovation Officer of these handmade trusty little juggle sticks and is hoping to set a Guinness World Record with having constructed the worlds largest set.
